Description Manager Account Receiveable, Hospital Billing at
Revenue Cycle Business Services (Remote) The Manager Account
Receiveable, Hospital Billing is accountable for developing,
leading and managing the resolution of all credit balances from
patient and payer sources within legal and other guidelines and
within time limits that enable prevention of revenue loss. The
Manager provides these services across the Providence health system
including for Alaska, Washington, Montana, Oregon, California,
Texas and New Mexico for the Epic SBO environment which includes
acute, physician and post acute services. The Manager also provides
these services in the MEDITECH and other environments pre Epic
conversion for HB only. Responsibilities:
- The Manager is accountable for developing, leading and managing
the resolution of all credit balances from patient and payer
sources within legal and other guidelines and within time limits
that enable prevention of revenue loss.
- Credit balance/refund operations ensure credit balances do not
exceed acceptable thresholds of 0.5 of an Accounts Receivables day,
and that all standards and compliance rules are being adhered
to.
- Ensure reporting is in place to track and trend daily credit
balance movement and average time to resolve an account.
- Ensure delegated authority limits on approvals for refunds are
adhered to.
- Use business acumen and judgment in relation to review of
accounts to ensure we are assuring that a refund is due.
- Manage and oversee the achievement of work queue volume
resolution.
- Escalate issues timely and follow through until a resolution is
in place.
- Provide expertise as part of the growth and expansion, service
delivery expansion or Epic go lives or at a time of other
significant change where a clear understanding of the credit
balances process is needed.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and provide a customer service
approach to engagement of key stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively across finance, reimbursement, treasury,
accounting, IS and other internal teams requiring information,
support, expertise or production of targeted work outcomes
according to KPIs or SLAs.
- Manage teams providing leadership to ensure a highly
sustainably engaged workforce is in place, with ongoing review of
productivity and staffing needs, coaching and guidance, ensuring
daily huddles are in place for team collaboration and achievement
of work goals, ensuring 1:1's occur to support team members and
provide coaching and development as needed, ensuring regular all
hands meetings occur for transparent and consistent
communication.
- Ensure talent is identified, hired, and trained and that the
new hire and onboarding process is completed in a way that fosters
success and caregiver experience.
- Ensure performance goals are set and monitored and regular
communication about performance and development occurs.
- Ensure delivery of the business goals and outcomes, including
target and KPI delivery. trained, productive, engaged, and
contributing to the KPI targets and goals of the Centers of
Excellence. Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred fields: Finance, Business, or
Healthcare; Or equivalent educ/experience
- 6 years of experience in revenue cycle, healthcare, banking or
finance, or cash applications in a healthcare system or large
financial services organization
- 4 years of leadership experience
- Proven history of proactively identifying, resolving and
escalating issues that impact business outcomes Preferred
