for a virtual tour! Job Summary Apply mechanical design knowledge
to the design development and production of Wagstaff casting
equipment. Primary Job Responsibilities Become familiar with
Wagstaff equipment, associated design criteria, design tools, and
business software with respect to a limited number of
products/areas of standard complexity. Apply this knowledge to the
design of equipment as assigned Create design documents necessary
for equipment production according to documented design procedures
and as directed by the responsible Engineer(s) Update and revise
mechanical drawings per instructions from design reviews, redlines,
NPR tags, etc. Prepare and release design documents to
Manufacturing Become proficient at estimating hours to complete
design tasks Become proficient at meeting goals with respect to
planned hours and production schedule Become proficient at
interfacing with Purchasing, Demand Management, and shop floor
personnel as required to effectively design and support the
manufacturer of equipment as required Keep equipment and work area
clean and orderly Abide by company policies In order to achieve
business objectives, work weeks in excess of 40 hours may be
required Train other team members in support of basic departmental
processes and equipment design methods Other duties as assigned
Requirements: AA or AS Degree in Engineering Technological field or
equivalent experience Experience with SolidWorks highly preferred
General Characteristics Acquires basic knowledge and develops
skills in a limited number of specific practice areas Applies
prescribed and/or standard techniques and procedures in accordance
with established criteria to perform assigned tasks Exercises
limited judgment on details of work and in application of standard
methods for conventional work Works on products of standard
complexity or portions of projects Acquires an understanding of
professional and ethical responsibilities General Technical
Responsibilities Designs a complete system, component, or process
of standard complexity Acquires an understanding of standard
business tools and their application to assigned tasks Prepares
complete project documents related to a limited number of specific

designers and members of other departments as necessary Direction

While performing the duties of this job, work is performed
primarily in an adequately lit, well ventilated, climate controlled
general office environment. Close computer work is regularly
required. The work usually involves minimal physical exertion. The
noise level in the general office environment is usually moderate.
This job may require occasional or more frequent interaction with
employees on the manufacturing shop floor. While on the shop floor,
the employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or
caustic chemicals, risks of moving equipment and parts, and other
risks associated with a manufacturing environment. Because of this
environment and associated risks, coordination with shop floor
managers/employees may be necessary before entering the shop floor,
and use of job appropriate personal protective equipment and
clothing is required on the shop floor. The noise level on the shop
