Summary:Reporting to the Department of Accounting & Management
Information Systems (MIS) Head, the Office Manager provides
administrative support to the department and faculty, and is
responsible for managing daily operations, financial activities and
accomplishing administrative tasks. This position is the unit's
first point of contact, overseeing student employees and acting as
departmental liaison to Accounting and MIS students, the
department's advisory board members and external stakeholders. The
Office Manager is also responsible for reviewing, streamlining and
documenting administrative processes for the department, as well as
ensuring compliance with departmental, college and university
policies. This position functions with minimal supervision.The
incumbent will serve as a champion for the University of Idaho and
higher education, advocate for the College of Business and
Economics' Purpose, Mission, and Value Statements, and help foster
positive changes within the department. Minimum Qualifications:High
School Diploma or equivalent One (1) year working in an
administrative support position Using computer software and
applications proficiently for word processing, developing
spreadsheets and conducting internet research Editing and writing
business correspondence using proper grammar and punctuation as
demonstrated in application materials Preferred
Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree or higher Experience:
1. Two (2) or more years working in an administrative support
position 2. Working with and understanding financial record-keeping
and budget reporting methods 3. Advanced spreadsheet software
experience for summarizing data and preparing reports 4.
Researching, interpreting, applying and explaining complex
information 5. Process improvement work and documentation of
processes6. Solving problems and performing liaison activities in a
professional setting 7. Coordinating activities requiring complex
arrangements 8. Proficiency using various University of Idaho
software platforms 9. Working knowledge of concepts, practices, and
procedures in higher education Ability to:1. Manage time
effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting2. Work
autonomously3. Think critically, act independently and exercise
initiative4. Maintain confidentiality5. Establish and maintain
effective working relationships and working well as part of a
