Work Location and Structure : Otis Orchards office; Cottage Grove
Office; hybrid remote and in office; or fully remote. May require
additional in office time depending upon tasks, meetings, or other

thriving work environment. Position Overview: We are seeking a
strategic and forward-thinking Chief Financial Officer / Lead
Consultant who brings deep experience in Federally Qualified Health
Centers (FQHCs), Primary Care Associations (PCAs), or Tribal Health
Organizations—and who is equally energized by leading and expanding
consulting service lines. This role blends high-level Fractional
CFO work with service-line leadership, innovation, and client
advisory responsibilities. Beyond providing expert financial
leadership, the CFO/Lead Consultant serves as a key driver in
shaping CLC’s financial consulting offerings. This includes
developing new service methodologies, identifying opportunities for
client value creation, and contributing to the growth and evolution
of CLC’s service lines. The ideal candidate is a seasoned CFO who
thrives in a consulting environment, enjoys solving complex
problems across multiple clients, and is invested in building
scalable solutions for the broader healthcare marketplace. While
this role does not directly supervise internal staff, the CFO/Lead
Consultant influences team growth and performance through coaching,
project leadership, and cross-service-line collaboration. The
individual will manage multiple clients and projects
simultaneously, maintaining a high bar for quality, clarity, and
timely delivery. Strong communication skills and a commitment to
relationship-building—both internally and externally—are essential
to success. Essential Functions: Strategic Financial Leadership
Serve as a trusted Fractional CFO for FQHCs and other
mission-driven healthcare organizations, delivering high-level
financial strategy, forecasting, and operational insight. Translate
complex financial data into clear, actionable recommendations that
drive organizational stability, sustainability, and growth. Oversee
and elevate core financial functions, including cash flow
management, internal controls, budgeting, and performance analysis,
within client organizations. Consulting and Advisory Excellence
Lead multiple client engagements simultaneously, ensuring
high-quality deliverables, on-time execution, and exceptional
client satisfaction. Guide clients through financial, operational,
and strategic challenges, provide tailored recommendations and
frameworks to support informed decision-making. Build strong,
long-term client relationships and become a valued thought partner
to CEOs, CFOs, Board Members and leadership teams. Service Line
Leadership & Innovation Play an active role in shaping and
expanding CLC’s financial consulting service lines by developing
methodologies, tools, and scalable solutions. Identify emerging
client needs and opportunities to innovate or enhance offerings,
ensuring CLC remains at the forefront of financial and healthcare
consulting. Contribute to service-line visioning, growth
strategies, market positioning, and internal capability building.
Team Collaboration & Coaching Provide coaching, feedback, and
mentorship to consultants and project teams to strengthen analysis,
storytelling, and client communication skills. Model
accountability, high standards, and clarity across all phases of
engagement work—even without direct supervisory responsibilities.
Collaborate across service lines to share expertise, integrate
solutions, and support a unified client experience. Thought
Leadership & Impact Represent CLC as a subject matter expert
through webinars, conference presentations, articles, and other
visibility efforts. Contribute insights and content that elevate
CLC’s brand and deepen our impact in the FQHC and healthcare
consulting space. Required Competencies (knowledge, skills,
abilities): Advanced financial acumen with the ability to interpret
complex data, identify trends and translate insights into clear,
actionable recommendations. Strong critical thinking skills with
the ability to navigate ambiguity, assess risk and develop sound
financial and operational strategies. Skilled at building trust,
communicating clearly, and guiding clients through financial and
organizational challenges. Ability to lead engagements, influence
outcomes and provide coaching across teams even without direct
supervisory responsibilities. Excellent written and verbal
communication skills, including the ability to present financial
information in a compelling and accessible way. Proficient with
financial systems, data analysis tools and Microsoft Office,
especially Excel. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in
Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
required. Master’s Degree (MBA, MHA, or similar) preferred. CPA,
CMA, or related certification preferred. 7–10 years of progressive
financial leadership experience, including time spent as a CFO,
Controller, VP of Finance, or similar senior financial role
required. At least 2 years of meaningful experience in an FQHC,
Tribal health organization, PCA, or mission-driven healthcare
setting preferred. Experience providing strategic financial
guidance, managing budgets, forecasting, and overseeing financial
operations in a complex healthcare or nonprofit environment. Prior
consulting, advisory, or project leadership experience strongly
preferred—or demonstrated comfort influencing without formal
authority. Proven experience managing multiple stakeholders,
projects, or organizations simultaneously. Background in building
processes, frameworks, or service offerings is a strong plus
(service-line leadership/entrepreneurial mindset). Physical
Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a
computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Able to
