Job Description:

Kootenai Health is hiring a Surgical Technologist I to join the Women and Children Services Obstetrics team!As the Surgical Technologist I, you will prepare and maintain medical equipment for surgical procedures. Follow hospital regulations and industry procedures to tend to patient during pre-operation procedures.In your role as the Surgical Technologist I, your core responsibilities include:

  • Performs pre-operation preparations to the patient's skin, body and medical equipment
  • Typically reports to a registered nurse
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
  • Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assignedTo be successful in this role, you will need:
    • Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist program or 2 years experience in an operating room as a Surgical Scrub Tech and/or LPN or military training required
    • Previous Operating Room experience preferred
    • Surgical Technician Certification (CST) preferred; certification required within 6 months of employment
    • BLS Required.
