Job Description:

Kootenai Health is hiring a Dialysis RN to join the Dialysis team! As the Dialysis RN, you will provide dialysis related care to patients in need of renal replacement therapy. Collaborates closely with medical practitioners, dieticians, social workers, and vascular access departments to meet the needs of the patient during dialysis treatments. Your core responsibilities include: Demonstrates the competent skills to perform IHD, SLED and CRRT treatments as per nephrologist orders and shall provide appropriate assessment, evaluation, ongoing monitoring and interventions per facility policies and procedures Ensures dialysis machines and equipment are maintained in good working order per policy Assists in preparing dialysis treatment areas with needed supplies prior to starting treatments and demonstrates knowledge of nursing procedures and nursing care as it relates to renal replacement therapy Demonstrates outstanding communication and education skills to patients ensuring understanding, comfort, safety, and privacy Facilitates interdisciplinary communication in delivering patient care in a timely fashion Demonstrates the ability to be self-directed and function independently in the dialysis setting Strictly adheres to all infection prevention practices and demonstrates best practice principles for dialysis vascular access care To be successful in this role, you will need: 1 to 2 years of experience in dialysis nursing preferred Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) preferred Graduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program required RN with less than 3 years' patient-facing nursing experience at time of hire are required to be enrolled in a baccalaureate (or higher) degree program in nursing within 1 year of employment, with completion within 3 years of hire RN with at least 3 years' patient-facing nursing experience at time of hire, ADN or diploma required; BSN or higher preferred BLS required ACLS required State of Idaho Registered Nurse OR licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the "multistate privilege to practice" compact with Idaho prior to start date Kootenai Health will ensure your success by providing you a robust leadership orientation program, access to Organizational Development, and co-workers who are knowledgeable and invested in your success.
