• Employment Type: TravelA Mammography Technician (Mammo Tech) is a specialized radiologic technologist who operates mammography equipment to perform diagnostic imaging procedures for detecting breast abnormalities. These images, known as mammograms, help to screen for breast cancer and other breast-related conditions. Mammography Technicians are trained to perform the procedure, ensure patient comfort, maintain a high standard of image quality, and assist in patient care throughout the process.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n
• \nPerforming Mammograms:\n

  • Position and prepare patients for mammography exams, ensuring they are comfortable and properly positioned.\n
  • Operate mammography equipment to capture clear, accurate images of the breast tissue.\n
  • Ensure proper compression of the breast during imaging to obtain the best possible images while minimizing discomfort for the patient.\n
  • Assist patients with undressing and putting on a gown, as well as positioning the breast for imaging.\n
  • Perform digital mammograms and, if necessary, additional views to obtain complete images of the breast.\n\n\n
  • \nPatient Care and Comfort:\n

    • Greet patients and explain the procedure, answering any questions to alleviate anxiety.\n
    • Educate patients on the importance of mammograms, helping them understand the process and ensuring they know what to expect.\n
    • Reassure patients during the exam, maintaining a calm and empathetic demeanor.\n
    • Monitor patients for discomfort or any issues during the procedure and adjust accordingly.\n\n\n
    • \nQuality Control and Image Evaluation:\n
