As we continue to grow, we look for people dedicated to service and quality.The Lifegurad is responsible for supervising the swimming pools, spa and pool deck areas by enforcing all aquatics policies and procedures in order to prevent accidents and provide a safe environment for all participants.ResponsibilitiesProvides for the safety of all Summit aquatic patrons.Enforces all pool and pool area rules in accordance with established Summit Identifies rule violations and/or potential hazards and immediately responds to correct. Advises leadership as appropriate.Maintains a watchful eye on the pool and pool users, stands and moves about the deck area, and carries proper lifeguard equipment. Scans the water and deck continuously for potential or actual hazards and takes appropriate action.Avoids extended conversations with patrons and co-workers which may distract from lifeguard duties.Performs life saving duties as trained and as necessary. Knowledgeable of the emergency action plan and participates in scheduled in-service trainings and staff meetings.Arrives to work prepared to perform a water rescue, CPR and First Aid at any moment.Communicates with others in a positive, productive, professional manner.Provides exceptional customer service. Interacts with patrons and corrects inappropriate behavior in a professional manner. Treats all participants with honesty and respect while maintaining established standards for control and shows no partiality or favoritism toward any one or group of participants.QualificationsCurrent Lifeguard & First Aid certification required.Current HS AED or Red Cross, Professional Rescuer, or equivalent CPR certification required.Minimum fifteen (15) years of age.Must possess basic computer skills.Minimum one (1) years experience working with children and youth preferred.Possess ability to communicate orally to individuals and small groups.Demonstrated ability to use good judgment, apply a high degree of integrity and maintain confidentiality at all times.Possess ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with children, parents and co-workers.Kalispell is a dynamic community located within a thirty-minute drive of Flathead Lake, Whitefish Mountain Ski Resort, Glacier National Park, several National and State forests and parks, and the Bob Marshall Wilderness area.
