Job Type Permanent Salary Details $35,000 with generous benefit package Required Experience 2 - 6 years The Community Engagement Coordinator supports the mission and vision of Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute (PCEI) by managing the membership and volunteer initiatives; coordinating and scheduling key community events; and communicating PCEI's activities and accomplishments to the communities which PCEI serves. The Community Engagement Coordinator works closely with the Program Manager and reports to the Executive Director. Responsibilities: Community Engagement (40%): - Develop and implement strategies to promote PCEI Programs and membership opportunities - Create monthly Mailchimp communications to members and other groups - Produce PCEI Public Relations materials (e.g. flyers, quarterly list of events that member and volunteers can engage with, Facebook, Instagram) - Speak, write, and appear publicly for PCEI at community events - Manage and update the shared calendar of events - Attend meetings relevant to PCEI community involvement and keep PCEI staff and board updated on discussions - Coordinate key community events at the PCEI Nature Center - Organize and conduct Annual Membership Meeting, a Membership Celebration, Artwalk, Pubbin' on the Patio, assist with Animals of the Night, and other events - Coordinate reservations at the PCEI Nature Center for community members - Manage community reservations with PCEI calendar events - Keep calendar up to date and communicate with PCEI staff regularly about upcoming events - Keep private event signage up to date on locations at the Nature Center - Be available during events or coordinate an alternate to be available - Help maintain brand standards for internal and external communications. Membership Development and Management (20%): - Serve as the point person communicating with PCEI members - Manage membership records in donor database - Coordinate and train PCEI volunteers, board members and staff participating in PCEI fundraising and public relations activities - Develop a public relations plan and marketing materials to promote the entire organization with the goal of recruiting new members - Develop strategy to recruit members to join PCEI - Implement recruitment strategy in order to expand PCEI membership involvement and participation in PCEI programs and events - Develop and manage PCEI membership campaigns - Contribute content to the PCEI newsletter and website with the goal of increasing membership support Fundraising Participation (20%): - Support the Executive Director in fundraising efforts - Participate in donor visits - Responsible for increasing the level of community giving through new member recruitment and renewals, and increasing contribution levels for both new and current members - Organize special events geared to improve individual and membership giving - Enhance financial support from private individuals, businesses, community groups, churches and local service organizations - Assist with PCEI Capital Campaign and general fundraising - Assist Program Manager in writing case statements and press releases needed to support fundraising activities Volunteer Recruitment and Management (15%): - Act as a primary point of contact for volunteer communications or inquiries including telephone, voicemail, written, GivePulse and email and distribute to appropriate staff - Recruit and schedule volunteers to support program needs - Coordinate volunteer orientation and training with appropriate personnel - Provide ongoing support, guidance, and training for volunteers - Develop and manage volunteer policies, procedures, and standards of volunteer/intern service. - Organize and participate in volunteer recognition programs and special events - Maintain schedule of long-term volunteer availability, volunteer events and activities on PCEI's shared calendar Staff Involvement and Planning (5%) - Attend and participate in regular staff and program planning meetings, record meeting minutes - Work as part of the PCEI team to develop short and long-term goals for PCEI Programs and facilities - Develop yearly strategic Membership Coordination plans and timeline in conjunction with Program Director and Executive Director Qualifications PCEI is seeking a candidate with the following skills and experience: - 3 years experience with marketing and communications or related field and/or community organizing and outreach experience - Preference will be given to candidates with a degree in media, communications, business or a closely related field - Is detail-oriented, meets deadlines, and is self-motivated - Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, donor management programs, social media management - Ability to work with the Mac operating system. - Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated involvement in community sectors - Demonstrate skills in working in a fast-paced, diverse, and frequently changing organization Compensation Full time, $35K, plus a generous benefits package Starting Date ASAP. Projected start and training in June
