Supervisor Business Services28257Position Summary:Supervises all functions of the Business Services department and staff, to include hospital and professional (clinic) billing operations.Responsibilities:Coordinates activities and schedules work assignments to meet departmental goals Assists management with accuracy of charge capture and denial mitigation Responsible for ensuring billing within established Steady State requirements, maximizing clean claims submissions to government and commercial third party payors, maximizing collections from Accounts Receivable and reducing A/R Days to within Kootenai Health A/R Day targetsRequirements and Minimum Qualifications:
  • Conducts quality audits to ensure department performance meets accuracy and compliance requirementsCreates reports from audit results, including trending, and provides feedback to staffTrains staff to ensure policies and procedures, as well as government regulations and payor guidelines are understood and followedPrepares and presents training materialsWorks with leadership and Revenue Cycle partners in implementation of performance improvement initiativesMonitors, coaches and improves staff performance and productivityProcesses timekeeping, conducts employee performance evaluations, and performs related administrative dutiesA wide degree of creativity and latitude is expectedPerforms other related duties as assignedFamiliar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goalsRegular and predictable attendance is an essential job functionCompetent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
  • Bachelor's degree in related field OR equivalent professional experience required
  • 5 years healthcare billing or business office experience required
  • 2 years supervisory experience preferred
  • Current knowledge of commercial and government payors, payment methodology, medical terminology and regulatory requirements preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills requiredWorking Conditions:
