About the JobResponsible for payer contract modeling and contract performance for Kootenai Health and Kootenai Care Network with focus related to traditional contracting reimbursement while transitioning to value based contracting methodologies. Responsibilities:

Responsible for payer relationship management, contract terms and conditions supported by pricing strategy, analytics, and impact plansWorks with all hospital and clinic departments to evaluate payer contracting needs and issues; develops plans to service the needs and communicate solutions to internal customersCoordinates communication between hospital and clinic departments and payers for problem resolution, issue solutions, and relationship buildingDirects payer contract negotiations with input from leadership of Kootenai Health and Kootenai Care Network in support of reimbursement and population health initiativesPerforms analysis and modeling for contract negotiations, performance, population health financial modeling, report production, and database managementWorks with various report formats to synthesize information conciselyLeads specific department and inter-departmental projects including billing support and payer specific denials reduction projectsMaintains knowledge of commercial and government reimbursement models and regulations, concepts, practices and procedures and their impact on paymentsFamiliar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the fieldRelies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goalsRegular and predictable attendance is an essential job functionCompetent to meet age specific needs of the unit assignedPerforms other related duties as assignedFull-time -Exempt Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor s in finance, accounting, business or healthcare related field required; Master s degree preferred
Minimum 5 years relevant experience required
Previous experience in payer contract negotiation, coding, billing and Accounts Receivable basics required
Excellent analytical skills and ability to manipulate large data sets from multiple systems
Familiarity with current common coding practices including CPT4, ICD9CM, and DRGs as well as current Medicare reimbursement methodologies and quality initiatives
Knowledge of pricing, healthcare finance, managed care, provider incentives, and risk contracting required Working Conditions:
